Melina Soochan Quartet at Upstairs Jazz

Introduction

Melina Soochan is a versatile, soulful and sophisticated singer and pianist, whose evening repertoire ranges from sultry jazz standards, to contemporary ballads, even to uptempo pop, rock and blues. Having graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor's Degree in classical piano and having dabbled for years in jazz, this musician is highly tuned to the sensitivities of her audience and varies her songs according to the mood of her clientele, always keeping the atmosphere pleasant and heartfelt. With years of performance experience under her belt, Melina is a true pleasure to watch and listen to.

Whether alone with her piano or featuring other musicians, this act is easy to book for your corporate or charity event, wedding cocktail, restaurant dinner, 5-à-7, or piano bar evening. Some of her most recent appearances include the piano bar in the Queen Elizabeth Hotel, as well as the piano lounge at the Hotel Fairmont in Mont Tremblant for the ski seasons 2009-10 and 2010-11. She has also performed at various renown live music venues in Montreal, such as The Oscar Peterson Hall, the Just For Laughs Cabaret, the Théâtre Ste-Catherine, the Monument National, as well as in numerous bars, restaurants, lounges and cafes across the city, like Upstairs Jazz, House of Jazz, Jello Bar, Sofa Bar, Brutopia, Clyde's, and Cafe Campus.
